Course Synopsis:
Most Christians believe that much prayer is needed for America. The problem is that most do not know how to pray in a way that is effective and will release the power of God on behalf of our nation. America’s National Prayer Committee Chairman, Dave Butts, provides practical help as well as encouragement for anyone who wants to pray effectively for the United States.
In many ways, this course is about the need for deep repentance in the church and serious intercession for our nation. Though an entire lesson is given to practical help in praying for an election, it goes way beyond elections to the great need for a nation-wide revival. It is a challenge to the Church and individual Christians to have the courage to speak prophetically to the needs of our nation, while at the same time waging spiritual war on her behalf.
With One Cry weaves together scripture and stories of spiritual awakenings from America’s past to confront our current situation and provide hope for our future.

Prior to each week’s lesson, please do the reading, watch the first video and spend time thinking through and answering the discussion questions. This will help you to be well-prepared when your group meets together either in person or online via Zoom (or a similar platform).
Individual Participants:
Go through the lessons at your own pace. Utilize the suggestions in the Course Tools below.

We have included a PDF file for each Lesson, as well as a PDF just for the discussion questions in case you wish to have a printed copy. To enhance your experience, we suggest you have a Bible and a journal, or something to take notes with. You will want to write down how God is speaking or teaching you throughout these lessons.
Reading:
• With One Cry: A Renewed Challenge to Pray for America by David Butts will be the primary text for this course.
• Please note: This course does not do the chapters in sequential order, so please follow the reading assignments for each week carefully.
